The Community Volunteer Network

A Network of Helpfulness Depends on Volunteers

Passion meets purpose when you join us in empowering volunteers to share their skills, gain valuable experience and build lasting connections. Your gifts support those who serve and enhance the lives of Southern Oregon’s older adults.

The Community Volunteer Network

We touch the hearts of those we serve. Community Volunteer Network, a division of PRS, is a non-profit 501(c) organization serving seniors in Southern Oregon. Older adults can participate within their community, while seniors who lack support systems can receive needed services. Donors help sustain this vital network.

AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP

Gifts to this umbrella organization support these programs:

Two older men in a car. The driver wears a blue AmeriCorps Seniors shirt and glasses, while the passenger wears a purple polo and sunglasses.

Call-A-Ride

Free rides to appointments for Jackson County seniors. Volunteers who are 55 or older and have safe driving records can assist.

SHIBA

Seniors rely on the Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA) program to navigate Medicare, health insurance and fraud prevention services. Comprehensively trained volunteers staff the team as certified counselors.

An elderly man and woman sit at a wooden table, reviewing papers together. A laptop and a vase of pink tulips are also on the table.
Two men and a curly-haired dog sit on a bench. One man wears an AmeriCorps Seniors shirt and a fedora, smiling at the other man who holds a cane. The dog sits between them.

Age Wise Age Well

Support for seniors in managing stress, life transitions and difficult emotions. Volunteer peer counselors are trained and supervised so they can listen, support and empower other seniors.

Foster Grandparent Volunteers

Non-judgmental, caring assistance to improve children’s overall well-being. Foster Grandparents pairs qualified seniors with children in schools and non-profit settings.

Grandma L, a Foster Grandparent

“The students love working with Grandma L. and look forward to seeing her. I could not run my reading groups without her. She is a tremendous help. She runs a small reading group, plus she meets with students one-on-one for reading practice and math fact practice.”
